. . .  '$440 TRILLION IN FREE/UNPAID/VOLUNTARY LABOR' . . . 'PER YEAR' . . .

. . . FROM CITIZENS/STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THEIR PROGRAMS . . .

. . . ACCORDING TO THE LATEST ESTIMATE MADE BY SOCIOECONOMIST AND 'PRODIGIOUS SAVANT IN SOCIAL SCIENCES,' . . .  KEN KATSURA (GOKATSURA2016 - ADVANCED 'NO LABEL' INDEPENDENTS) . . .(SEE HIS RECENT BLOGS ON THIS TOPIC IF NEW TO HIS BLOGS) . . .

KATSURA STATED:

"To arrive at this estimate, I took my alma mater, UCSB, as an "average size school," which it is at 10,000 enrollent. I factored in my earlier estimates that the average student could be doing $44K/yr. as a medium range administrative assistant in CA, rather than attending college. UCSB, therefore, I estimated receives about $440 million/yr. in free/voluntary/unpaid labor from students.  Again, the State of CA Dept of Unemployment Insurance/Employment Development Department (EDD), by its own admission, confirms that attendance in college is "unpaid/volunteer labor."  This, I multiplied by the top 1000 colleges and universities in the nation (there are actually 5,758 as of 2007 - wikipedia) and arrived at higher education for the top 1,000 colleges and universities to be a massive $440 trillion per year - which is good enough for me, as a socioeconomist, to understand how foundational this "free/voluntary" labor is to our overall economy, and also why this is fundamentally corrupt, unjust and dysfunctional to exploit intellectual capital/human labor on a level which is almost as bad as in the Third World, it's just that the conditions are better, here - the economic/financial exploitation, however, is extremely bad. We owe the government NOTHING in student loan debt, to be certain.

What this also DEMONSTRABLY indicates is that exploitation of manual, blue-collar labor is nothing compared to the exploitation of white collar intellectual labor in the U.S. . . ."
